DEBT

The word itself is heavier than it looks. It feels like someone just threw a block of brick on your back even if you're not affected by the actual word itself and you don't relate to any kind of debt.

Let's take a look on the world's statistics 1st then I'll share my personal thoughts and experiences with you all.

Based on an analysis of Federal Reserve statistics and other government data, the average US household owes $7,529 on their cards; looking only at indebted households, the average outstanding balance has risen to $16,140 and still rising.

Current as of October 2015

U.S. household consumer debt profile:

• Average credit card debt: $16,140
• Average mortgage debt: $155,361
• Average student loan debt: $31,946

In total, American consumers owe:

• $11.85 trillion in debt
   ○ An increase of 1.7% from last year

• $890.9 billion in credit card debt
• $8.17 trillion in mortgages
• $1.19 trillion in student loans
   ○ An increase of 7.1% from last year

Debt in Britain

More than half a million people – 577,677 – have sought help in the past year alone, their individual debts averaging £14,650, the report by debt charity StepChange says: The overall household debt-to-income ratio, which includes mortgages, is predicted to rise to a record 172 per cent by 2020.
There are more than three million people in “severe problem debt”, and 18 million are worried about making their income last until their next pay packet, it warns. Problem debt costs the country more than £8 billion a year – this includes £960 million on mental-health treatment for people struggling to cope; £2.3 billion in costs due to job losses or lost productivity, and £790 million in “relationship breakdown costs,” the report says.

What?! So it kinda looks dim already as it is if those numbers relate to the biggest countries in the world with the highest economy control, then what will happen with smaller countries of the 3rd world region?!

Let me share some personal insights with you and maybe later you can share yours with me.

It's a story that took place 3 years ago but don't worry I'll cut it short as much as I can.
Basically I was living a normal life like any human being, working, paying bills, paying rent and enjoying my time on the weekends, so what happened?!
I made a HUGE mistake! And to be honest, if you look at anyone who got himself in debt even if it's you, Yes I'm talking to YOU reading this article right now!, You'll find that it all started with a stupid little mistake then it just kept escalating from there on. With me it started with $ 580 that I borrowed from a friend of mine who used to lend me whenever I was in trouble and since I never actually took that amount from him before (it was always around $ 50-100 and I always paid him back) that was a 1st for me and this time I needed some time to give them back since I lost my job at the time. As you can guess, that was when everything started to fall apart. Within a year and half that little insignificant amount of money kept on escalating till it reached $ 5800 which means 10x it's original amount, can you believe that?!

So, what can you do if you were in that situation (forgot to say that you couldn't find a decent job and whatever you managed to do barely paid for your basic needs)???

Let me tell you what you can do?

One of the most common mistakes that people make when they're in a tight spot is keep thinking about it non-stop. That's a huge mistake cause not only is it not helping your situation in any way, it actually makes it worse. When you keep thinking about negative thoughts you'll most likely be affected by them, hence what happened to me. It affects you in many ways without even realizing that it's happening (changes vary from one person to another).

It was scientifically proven and tested that the human brain actually sends out electro-magnetic signals and it can be measured in frequencies. And frequencies work opposite to a magnet, they attract the ones with the same type. To put it simple (+) positive attract (+) positive and (-) negative attract (-) negative.

So start thinking in a positive manner and try to avoid thinking too much about it (I know it's hard
believe me, I was there). It was very very difficult for me too to achieve that state of mind but after a few researches on various methods and reading lot of books and watching documentaries on positive thinking I finally achieved the best way. Let me share my methods with you maybe it can help you too as it helped me.

1- You must understand the real meaning of positive thinking, basically it's SELF-TALK what does it
mean:
Positive thinking doesn't mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life's less pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you approach those thoughts in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst. The endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your head. These automatic thoughts can be positive or negative. Some of your self-talk comes from logic and reason. Other self-talk may arise from misconceptions that you create because of lack of information or different feelings. If the thoughts that run through your head are mostly negative, your outlook on life is more likely pessimistic. If your thoughts are mostly positive, you're likely an optimist.
2- Find the best place you like to relax and discharge your anger or stress. It could be anything like watching a movie, surfing the Internet, playing games, chatting with someone or even sitting in silence. Whatever your method is, that's where you start!

3- Start thinking about your goals and by goals I mean real achievable goals not day dreaming.

4- Don't rely only the 1st 3 steps, you need to take actions in order for them to work and take effect on you. Give up anything you hate doing and start doing what you love. Why do I say that, cause you can give more than 100% to something you love and sometimes you can even go 2,3 or even 4 extra miles doing it, but I can bet you anything, even if someone paid you double or triple what you make you'll still be unable to give a 100% and inside you'll always be unhappy or your life will just become a routine, why you ask? Cause at the end of the day you ARE JUST doing your JOB.

That's what I did, left my job and even went to the extent of changing countries and started doing what I love. Film making and writing, and the result? I've never been happier in my entire life and things are going well, slow yes, but smooth.

To end this long talk, I'll just say one thing "Do What You Love, the Money Will Follow" it's also the name of an awesome book that I bought recently and helped me a lot in understanding my life needs and goals. Now I can finally live my life with no regrets ☺☺
